The Fish & Chip Shop offers a taste of the ’60s, when rock and roll was king, the All Blacks were untouchable, and New Zealand really was God’s own; when every Friday night you could enjoy a good portion of fish and chips wrapped in the day’s newspaper and double fried. When the fish was freshly caught, the prawn cocktail was sophistication and tomato sauce really was made from tomatoes – it was even served in tomatoes!
